Hancock County

Hancock County occupies 2,351 miles in the state of Maine, 32.47% of which is water. A distinguishing feature of this County is that it boasts the longest coastline of any Maine county. Commercial fishing and tourism are the county’s most important industries. Hancock County is home to Acadia National Park (New England’s only national park) and Cadillac Mountain.

Two marine-related colleges are located in Hancock County – Maine Maritime Academy at Castine and the College of the Atlantic at Bar Harbor.
